Key Account Features
Bandwidth/Data Transfer
Any out-bound or in-bound traffic from your account is considered data transfer.
For example, each time a Web page, image or other element on your
site is requested by a browser (user), data transfer is generated. Also, FTP and other traffic
related to your account is metered and counts against your bandwidth limit. Additional bandwidth
is invoiced in blocks at the current rate as shown on the Mostlyhosting.com web site.
Disk Space
Disk space refers to the amount of server disk storage your
account is allocated. This space is used to store your html files,
graphics, audio/video files, e-mail, log files and all other files
that make up your web site.
Dedicated IP Address
Hosting plans are either name-based or IP-based. A name-based plan can not have
anonymous FTP or SSL.
Our lowest level hosting plan is name-based, however, it is possible to have a dedicated IP
address with this plan at an additional cost. Our other plans include a dedicated IP address at
setup by default, as indicated in the Plan Comparison table. IP-based site allows you to access your web site via a
web browser (using the IP address) regardless of the status of your domain name
and test the site and scripts to assure they are ready for the DNS transfer.
This results in minimal (or no) downtime when transferring your web site from
another hosting company.
Domain Name DNS Transfer*
Upon request, we will modify nameservers in your domain name record to transfer DNS
from your old host to us. However, if you wish to do it yourself, we have online
help pages to assist. Be aware, any DNS changes need to "propogate" throughout
the Internet, which may take up to 48 hrs. (*Note: Domain Name Transfers are different,
and move your domain to our domain registration system and extend your domain's expiration
date by one addition year. In this case, for a domain name transfer, fees do apply.)
Domain Name Pointers/Aliasing
Domain name pointers "point" to the root level (not a subdirectory)
of your web site, just like your original domain name. Separate e-mail for
the domain name pointer/alias is not available. All e-mail is included in your primary domain account.
Subdomains (anything.yourdomain.com)
Subdomains act just like top level domain names. You will be able
to have unlimited subdomains which will point to a directory in
your main site. These subdomains will share the disk space, ftp access, tenet access,
web logs, cgi-bin and e-mail of the primary domain. Separate e-mail for the
subdomain is not available.

E-Mail Features
POP3/IMAP
Accounts
All hosting plans come with POP/IMAP e-mail accounts. The POP/IMAP server processes incoming e-mail.
POP3 (Post Office Protocol, version 3) and IMAP (Internet Messaging Access Protocol) mail servers store
incoming email messages until users download them to their computers with an e-mail client such as Outlook,
Eudora, Pegasus or Outlook Express.
In addition to storing incoming email messages, the IMAP server allows users to archive email messages in folders,
share mailboxes with other users, access multiple mail servers at one time, and more efficiently access email attachments.
Both POP and IMAP mail servers accept SMTP-formatted email messages.
E-Mail Addresses
Aliases can be added to POP e-mail accounts to offer unlimited addresses
to one user. An e-mail alias is an e-mail address that gives you the ability
to receive any e-mail at anything@yourdomain.com.
E-Mail Forwarding
Forwarding allows you to route all e-mail coming to one address
on your domain and send it to another address outside your domain.
For example, you have support@yourdomain.com. You can have all e-mail
forwarded to another account such as myname@yahoo.com. This comes in handy
when you have many e-mail addresses and you want to combine them into one
e-mail account in order to manage them easier.
Autoresponders
Autoresponders may be used to send automated responses to incoming
e-mail sent to a specific address. For example, someone e-mails
sales@yourdomain.com, they will receive an automatic reply from you
with your prewritten response.
Majordomo Mailing List
Majordomo is a powerful e-mail listserve that allows you to e-mail
multiple people simultaneously, without displaying the entire recipient list.
Your e-mail looks as though it is only going to one person. There are many
configurable features, including automatic subscribe and unsubscribe. When one
user e-mails the Majordomo listserver, that e-mail is sent out to everyone on
the list to read.
Wildcard E-Mail Address
A "Wildcard E-mail Address" is used to receive ALL e-mails not
going to an assigned address on the server. Typical use is for
receiving e-mails that someone might have misspelled (the domain name must
be spelled correctly, however.
SMTP (Outgoing) Mail Server
This server routes outgoing and incoming e-mail. Sendmail is an SMTP
(Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) mail server that routes SMTP email messages
through the Internet to be stored on a mail server, such as POP3 or IMAP.
SMTP is the most common e-mail protocol on the Internet. Sendmail also allows
you to manage some email features, such as email aliases, autoresponder, and spam filters.
Web Based E-Mail (Squirrel Mail)
Provides Web-based access to email accounts. Squirrel Mail is an
e-mail client that uses IMAP to provide your email account
users with access to their email messages directly on the Internet.
Free MX Record Changes
Mail Exchange Record. Mostlyhosting.com will enter any MX Record of your choice for no charge.
This feature is typically used when a customer has their own e-mail server.
Spam Filter
Spam is any unsolicited e-mail message. Through our Control Panel, you can control spam
by creating a spam filter to block specific email originating from outside the server.
This powerful feature is a great way to reduce Spam from hitting
your personal or business addresses. This is also useful when you
just want to block unwanted users from e-mailing you. For instance, you may
block an e-mail address, domain name, or IP address.
SpamCop and ordb.org (Open Relay Database) Filtering
Mostlyhosting.com uses popular spam filters on all shared servers to help reduce
the amount of Spam our users receive. Mostlyhosting.com uses SpamCop and ordb.org,
which is the Open Relay Database, to help in our prevention of Spam.
ordb.org is a non-profit organization which stores IP-addresses
of verified open SMTP relays. These relays are, or are likely to
be, used as conduits for sending unsolicited bulk email, also known
as Spam. By using our hosting service, you understand and approve
of such filtering. You understand that any person attempting to
e-mail you from a server in the Open Relay Database will be returned
to the sender. If you do not want your service subject to such filtering,
then you understand you are free to host your site elsewhere. For

Support
MS FrontPage 2002 Extensions
MS FrontPage Extensions allow you to host web sites developed with
FrontPage '98, '99, 2000 or 2002 on Unix servers. This feature is optional at the time your
site is created. FrontPage extensions can NOT be added or deleted once your site is setup. If
FrontPage Extensions are enabled, .htaccess (directory access) files are controlled by the FrontPage manager.
FrontPage Extensions also require a Dedicated IP Address site.
Perl, Python, C/C++, J2SDK
These types of scripting languages are installed on all Mostlyhosting.com

Private CGI-Bin
Mostlyhosting.com allows you use this directory to execute CGI scripts
you write or ones that are already written. Recognizing that some scripts
are very cpu and memory intensive, it is very important that
your scripts do not affect others on the server. If other sites, in our sole discretion,
do become affected adversely, we reserve the right to stop the script(s). If you wish to continue
running any cpu/memory intensive cgi scripts, you will need to host your web site
on a Dedicated Server. Please refer to our Hosting Policy for more information.
PHP 4
One of the most powerful development tools on the Internet, PHP

Telnet is a software utility which allows you to become a user on
a remote computer. Telnet gives you added control over domain/server
management over what a standard control panel or ftp can.
SSH (Secure Shell)
Many users of Telnet, rlogin, ftp and other such programs might
not realize that their password is transmitted across the Internet
unencrypted, but it is. SSH encrypts all traffic (including passwords)
to effectively eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking and
other network-level attacks. Additionally, SSH provides many
secure tunnelling capabilities, as well as a variety of authentication
methods.
Password-Protected Directories
Allows you to protect your web pages with password and
user ID combinations that you establish. When someone tries to access a web
page within the password protected directory,
they will be prompted for a username and password.
If they authenticate, they can view your pages within that directory.
Pine, vi, Pico, .htaccess
All these utilities are included within your UNIX shell. 'Pine'
is a more advanced e-mail client within Telnet then standard 'Mail'.
'VI' and 'PICO' are text editors that let you create and edit files

of server trouble. However, these backups are not intended to take the place of
our users backing up their own data. Therefore, we highly recommend that all users back
up their own data on a regular basis. Your control panel has integrated backup and restore

backed up to your local machine or to an ftp server.
Microsoft FrontPage Extension Permission Management
Interface
FrontPage Extensions has permission management capabilities which
are incompatible with other .htaccess managers. Using this feature

If your plan doesn't have enough disk storage, you may add additional storage to your threshold
in 100 MB chunks billed in accordance with your plan's billing cycle.
Additional Bandwidth (Data Transfer)
If your plan doesn't have enough bandwidth, you may add additional bandwidth to your threshold
in 5 GB chunks billed in accordance with your plan's billing cycle.
Additional E-Mail Addresses
Additional POP3 accounts are available in blocks of 10 accounts.
Domain Name Registration - .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz, .us, .name

be done through us and do not incur additional registration fees. You may also choose to
